Death Rites - Dying Consciously
Mapping the Journey Beyond Death
Service Description
In our contemporary western society, the art of departing this life with dignity and peace has largely been forgotten. The elaborate death rites practiced by shamanic traditions offer specific steps for reconciliation and healing for both the dying and their loved ones. The concept of "conscious dying" – maintaining an intact consciousness through the death journey and beyond – is tailored for all parties involved in the death process: the individual, their family, and friends. Death is the ultimate journey of liberation. We want to complete our unfinished business and be prepared to enter infinity. Shortly before death, the doorway between the worlds opens. Many indigenous cultures believe this portal shuts down forty hours after the last breath. Ancient teachings show us the way, describing the terrain and giving directions. The ancient shamanic death rites encompass 5 steps: 1. Life Review and forgiveness. Reflecting on one's life, acknowledging both joys and sorrows, and seeking forgiveness is an essential step towards finding inner peace and resolution. 2. Cleanse the chakras. Clearing the dying person's chakras assists in liberating their energetic body by eliminating the toxic energy accrued over a lifetime due to trauma. 3. Give permission to die. Many need assurance that their loved ones will be fine after they're gone, and those unable to leave their loved ones can unnecessarily linger for months. 4. Great Death Spiral after the last breath :: Unwinding the chakras, then disengaging the Luminous Body and setting it free to go on the great journey, guiding the deceased's energy to the light. 5. Sealing the chakras so that the soul does not re-enter the physical body Officiated by Rev.
